Welcome!

The first week of class is officially over, and everyone should now have some idea of how we will be using this class blog.  I'm delighted to be the first one to post to it!

Over the course of this semester, I will provide eight different blogging prompts, and you will be required to respond to this on this blog.  However, if you ever have anything else you'd like to share in this community, don't hesitate to go ahead and throw it up here!  I will never detract points for extra posts; and, if you've read the syllabus, you know that you even have the opportunity to gain extra credit points by writing additional blog posts.

I've posted our first prompt in Module 2:

You've now read several articles about literary researchers and the tools that they (we) use.  Describe your own research style (or perhaps, lack thereof), and how you plan to start searching for resources for this class's wiki (and your ENGL 5014 essay, if appropriate).  For example, how will you decide on your topic, and where will you start researching?

It has come to my attention that not ALL of you are currently enrolled in ENGL 5014 right now.  The ENGL 5014 class is required to turn in a bibliographic essay at the end of the semester, and I tried to make this class supplement the ENGL 5014 essay requirements.  However, if you are not taking ENGL 5014, then I encourage you to make this class supplement whatever research projects you're currently working on.  Talk about it here (on this blog), and we'll build our own support community.

Remember to tag your post with Blog Post 1 when you write your blog post!
